My Brain at Work
Today was the first day of my 365-day Challenge.
I was surprised by how many times I thought about ordering something.
It started with making coffee at home. Instead of feeling good about ordering my mocha, my brain immediately went to, “I need a better reusable travel mug with a lid.” Then it became, “Maybe I should get a Nespresso.” Never mind the fact that I already own a perfectly good fully automatic espresso machine!
Later I was thinking about making iced tea and suddenly I “needed” a sun tea jar…and then a bigger glass pitcher.
I didn’t need any of those things. I just couldn’t order coffee.
Then came dinner.
I was exhausted, and ordering pizza sounded great. I actually thought I won’t use Doordash I’ll call it into the pizza place for delivery, then quickly realized that’s still against the rules.
I didn’t order out, I looked at what I had on hand and made salmon for dinner.
Not being able to order anything gave me a little anxiety today. For a second, during the pizza delema, I thought “There is no way I’m going to make it 365 days.”
But I made it through today!
